Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How can Physio Max help me?
A: We can help you in various ways. We are university-trained health professionals that can assess and effectively treat physical injuries. We will also educate you on pain management, how to improve your function at home, work and sport/hobbies. Many patients, with or without injuries, also seek our services to design a home exercise program. It all comes down to addressing specific needs that you can discuss with your health professional during the initial visit.
Q: Do I need to be referred by a doctor first?
A: No. You have direct access (no physician referral) to physiotherapy. However, some extended health plans still require a medical prescription for fee reimbursement. We suggest you contact your insurance company for information regarding their reimbursement policy.
Q: Do I need to bring anything with me?
A: You will need your reading glasses to complete some forms. Comfortable clothing is also recommended since body movements are required to adequately assess the injured area. You should think of bringing clothing that will enable the therapist to see and touch the injured area. For example, bring gym shorts (elastic material) for a leg injury, or ladies may want to bring a tank top for shoulder problems. We can supply you with shorts or hospital gown if you don't have the appropriate clothing. Don't forget to bring clean indoor shoes or wear our slippers during treatments.
